WEEK 12:
From the images you can see the progress of the installation of the 100mm of external polystyrene insulation to the front of the existing house and the rear of the new extension. To the front, application of the off-white render base coat has also commenced and the new aluminium window cills have also been installed. The ral colour of the cills will match the external finish of the new triple glazed alu-clad windows and the new soffits and facias which will be installed on the original house.
Internally the electrical and mechanical first fix will be complete this week. This will allow for the installation of the icynene spray foam insulation to the underside of all roofs. Once the insulation is complete, the installation of plaster slabs can begin, which will mean all of the new and reconfigured rooms internally will begin to take shape.
